Spain Translation Requirements

A sworn translation (traducción jurada) is an official translation completed by a translator appointed by Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAEC). These translations are:

• Legally binding in Spain
• Stamped, signed, and sealed by the sworn translator
• Often required for immigration, academic, or legal purposes

Unlike general certified translations in the U.S., Spain requires sworn translations to come from MAEC-appointed translators. U.S.-based certifications are not accepted.
